Laser Cut for easier Processing
and for higher Breaking Strength of the final Planes
Wolfgang Friedl, Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH +
Grenzebach Shanghai / Chinese Speaker
Abstract:
A new technology summits to
be an essential novelty for many glass users: Glass is fit now for new
purposes not to image today. Same firmness is reached now with less
glass thickness and weight!
This new technology facilitates very fast
online Laser cutting of all glass thickness.
While all other existing laser technologies are limited to cut thin
glass only, or they are extremely slow, this new cutting technology is
the breakthrough for float ribbon cutting as well as for offline cutting
tables in building- and automotive glass production lines.
Already existing / available
Grenzebach laser cutting systems:
- Float Ribbon longitudinal (new and
retrofit)
- Offline XYZ Cut
Under Development + Test:
- Float Ribbon Cross Cut
- Cutting of tempered Glass
- Vacuum Isolating Glass 'VIG',
see www.vig-info.de
Lab Status:
- Offline Shape Cut
- Automotive Glass Cut
- Cutting of laminated Glass
The laser cutting technology opens
a new era of flat glass quality:
- Precise, accurate, perpendicular edge.
- No micro cracks, fragmentation, chips,
cutting oil: less scratches, clean glass.
- Easy cutting + snapping in any strain-,
stress-, tension-, thickness-condition.
- Automatic setting, over all thickness.
- Cutting close to the edge.
- Score/scribe now and snap later.
- No grinding nor washing required
before tempering or bending.
- Multiple higher breaking resistance:
Less breakage (handling, processing), more stability of the final
product.
This is the mayor advantage of the
new technology:
we started laser cutting for reaching a better and reliable glass edge.
But the result does not only lead to a better edge quality, but also the
quality of the complete final glass panel will be much higher!
A new technology has been started to be
used now. The time is over now, to continue an antiquarian glass cutting
wheel method, where the glass edges are injured in a way that the
firmness of the final sheet is reduced to a third of its basic potential
– even we had to attune to so long time.
This message must be pronounced to
all people in the world, concerned with the permissions for safety
regulations and directions. As soon as there are new established
standards considering the new capabilities of the laser cut glass plate
stability, there is no way back. In a short time then, the laser cutting
technology will replace all existing cutting techniques for industrial
use completely.
The famous 'Formula_One' race driver Michael
Schumacher says "Ahead the field is always open space".
With this in mind we like to invite you, the glass producing and
processing industry as well as the glass facade makers, the architects
and the glass users: The pole position of a new era in glass quality
is available for you!
